Then were there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on them and pray.        (Matthew 19:13)

Children's To Children's Home Page The 10 Lepers

As Jesus entered a village standing in the distance were ten men who had leprosy. This was a disease that everyone feared, there was no cure and if you had leprosy you had to keep away from other people.

They called out to Jesus, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."

Jesus answered them "go and show yourselves to the priests." They had to go to the priest to have him declare them clean and allow them back in the village. The lepers believed Jesus could heal them and went to the temple. As soon as they went they were healed. No one had power like this. Then one of the men who had had leprosy ran back to find Jesus, he knelt down at Jesus' feet and thanked him. He was a Samaritan, the Jews and the Samaritans didn't get on. Jesus said "Weren't there ten of you? Were are the other nine?" There was only one who returned to give glory to Jesus and thank him. Jesus said to him "Arise and go your way. Your faith has made you well." Jesus gives us so much.

How often do we thank God?
