I grew up in Cameroon, Central Africa, in a non-Christian family. My parents lived according to traditions characterised by the worship of ancestor spirits. I had no knowledge of the God of the Bible. But when I was 20 years old, a cousin invited me to his church. I decided to go with him just for curiosity. After this, I regularly attended Sunday services in that church but I was not a Christian yet since I was still living the same life as before, with binge-drinking, immorality and other things.

My parents lived according to traditions characterised by the worship of ancestor spirits. I had no knowledge of the God of the Bible. But when I was 20 years old, a cousin invited me to his church. I decided to go with him just for curiosity. After this, I regularly attended Sunday services in that church but I was not a Christian yet since I was still living the same life as before, with binge-drinking, immorality and other things.
	I was just a “church-goer” with no knowledge of Jesus as Savior. For academic reasons I moved from my native city to Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. There I joined a new church where I had the privilege to hear the Gospel preached to me. It is only then that I realised that going to church was not enough and that I must be born again, trust in Jesus Christ and accept him as my Saviour and Lord. I also understood that to be a Christian means that I must stop my life of sin and immorality. I understood that God so loved me that He sent his only begotten Son on earth to die on the cross for me. That Jesus paid the price for my sin and that by believing in Him I will not be condemned but will have eternal life. After been challenged with this message of the Gospel, I was convicted of my sin and I decided to give my life to Christ-Jesus. Since that decision the verse of 2Corinthians 5: 17 which says: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new”, has become true in my life. My life has really changed so much and I have the peace of God in my heart. I was the first person in my family to become a Christian and it was not easy for other members of my family to understand what had happened to me because I had changed so much to them. They thought I had joined a cult. But I patiently shared the gospel with them and today all of my 4 sisters, my younger brother and my mother are Christians, confirming the word of God which says in Acts 16: 31, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your family”.
