| Dovecot Evangelical Church
began just over
70 yrs ago at the same time
as many of the houses on the Dovecot estate were being built. We were
originally part of the Liverpool City Mission (with whom we continue to
have a good relationship) until 1996 when we became an independent
local Church. But we are not just talking about the building, since the people who come here are the Church. As the photograph shows, we are a group of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, of all ages, from different countries and races, from various walks of life, all with different personalities and interests. Most of us live locally, but some travel to us from the areas around such as Roby, Huyton, Swanside, Page Moss and Knotty Ash to name just a few. Although we do have a varied background we do have one thing in common, that is we have all come to know and love the God of the Bible for ourselves. We are ordinary people who have been changed by God's power, and now want to live in a way that pleases Him, and to praise Him for all he has done for us. We want to tell others about Him and that is one of the reasons for this website You would be most welcome to visit us any Sunday - we have Services at 11.00 am and 6.30 pm and who knows, maybe you'll join our growing family. |
