| If you were to ask this question, most people would say that something has gone wrong with the world. | |||
 |
In 1831 people looked in vain for a reason for the Cholera epidemic in London because they didn’t link it to something which happened 100 years earlier. In the same way, we don’t realize what’s gone wrong with the world because we haven't recognized the cause started long ago. |
||
| So, as more and more toilets were installed the problem just grew bigger and bigger until the epidemic occurred, with horrific consequences and resulting in thousands dying. | |||
| For each disease there are
symptons, spots, rashes, temperature, sore throats etc. The same is true in our society, we see symptons, like crime soaring, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide, teenage pregnancies and broken families. We do live in a 'sick' society. |

We find
that when the foundations of a building are undermined, the building
will lean, but eventually collapse. In our society we find the
foundations that once marked us out, are being undermined. Authorities have been undermined |

If we
have a disease we want to look for a remedy and that is true for a sick
society. What is Mans remedy? We build more prisons, teach sex education to children, make tougher laws, offer marrige guidance etc. But man's remedies do not work! |

Another result of Man's
remedies are spiralling costs, more people sent to prison higher
taxes etc. Man's remedies
are centred on man opinions and ignore the fact that there is a God
who
has spoken. Our problem are getting worse:- Man's remedies have failed. |

| The
correct remedy is founded on the truth of the Bible. The God who
made us has given us rules to live by.When
we buy something we often read: 'for best results follow the
maker's instructions' and this is true of life also: 'for best
results follow the Creator's instructions’ The problems we see in the world today are because we have turned our backs on the Bible and its teaching. We try and pick and choose what to believe. |

| The
heart of the problem is the problem of the heart. The Bible says that "all have sinned and fall short of what God wants of us". Sin is the problem,however many people don't know the word, or laugh at it and they continue to break God's laws and do their own thing. |

As with
all problems, the 'prescription' has to be paid for. So it is with
man's problem of sin, a price has to be paid if we are to sort out the
problem. This price was paid by Christ, when he died on the cross paying the price for what we have done wrong. |
||
| The
remedy that God has given to us for what's gone wrong with the world
(and with
me), is a remedy that works. It works for everyone who will take it. God can change your heart, but you need to take the prescription. |

The
Bible says "now is the day of salvation". To be cured from your
problems of sin, you need to act now. Recognise your problem, ask God to forgive you and to take away your sin. |
