Dovecot Evangelical Church 424 East Prescot Road, Liverpool, L14 2EH

Hi, my name is Arthur and I have been coming to Dovecot Church since babyhood. 25th January 1954 is the day I became a Christian, I was 12 years old. It was a Tuesday night at the Young Peoples Fellowship meeting.

I had heard the gospel message many times before that night, and I had the head knowledge about Jesus but that night I realised my need of Him as my Saviour. The speaker was the Pastor of the church and as he spoke the Lord Jesus became real to me. After the meeting ended, the Pastor and I went into a room and knelt down together and I asked the Lord Jesus to be my Saviour and forgive my sins and to come in to my life. He has been with me ever since then, and this year (2009) it is 55 years since then.

The Lord has led me into different types of service for Him. I have been a Sunday School teacher in the past, and for the last 42 years I have served as doorkeeper at the Church on Sundays.

It itsn’t always easy being a Christian, but with the Lord close to you, He is always there to help. What He has done for me He can do for you. I pray that the Lord will be with you as you read this testimony and that He will become as real to you as He is to me, and that the Lord will speak to your heart and you will realise your need of Him.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6

For the Lord will not forsake His people, for His great name’s sake, because it has pleased the Lord to make you His people.

1 Samuel 12:22
