Then were there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on them and pray.        (Matthew 19:13)

Children's To Children's Home Page Cain and Abel

Adam and Eve now lived in a world that was not perfect. Sin had entered the world. God now required a sacrifice to be made for sins. Adam and Eve had two sons, the first was called Cain and the second called Abel. Cain was a gardener and Abel was a shepherd.

It was time for the boys to bring their sacrifices to God. Abel brought a lamb to his offering as God had commanded but Cain brought some fruit. He thought his way was best but God was not pleased with Cain. Cain knew he had done wrong but got angry.

Later Cain was out in the field with Abel and he killed his brother. God sees everything and asked Cain "Where is your brother Abel?" Cain replied "Am I my brother's keeper?" God punished Cain and he was sent away, never to return to his family.

It was a sad time. People did what was right in their own eyes but there were some who called out to God and worshipped Him. Adam and Eve had another son called Seth and it was through his line that Christ would be born.
