Read about one of our ladies, Judith...

I have always believed in God but did not have a personal relationship with Him. I went to New Heys High School where upon hearing the Easter story, related by a Christian RE teacher, I realised that Jesus had died on the cross for my sins, I was 13 yrs old…

NEVERTHELESS

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God

is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

On Your last night as MAN on earth

Just thirty three years since Your birth,

In dark Gethsemane You knelt-

We can't imagine how You felt,

As thoughts of all that lay ahead,

The searing pain filled you with dread-

The scoffing, blood, and cruel nails

And all that such a death entails,

Three times you asked your friends to stay,

But they were tired and went away,

And You were left alone to face

The coming horrors and disgrace,

Your weakness from the lack of food,

Your sweating like great drops of blood

Caused human nature rise to pray

Is there not another way?

Then you remembered that was why

Your Father sent you down to die-

To take upon yourself the weight

Of sins of all mankind so great

That sinners might be reconciled,

Forgiven, cleansed, no more defiled

So, with a mighty surge of love,

In submission to the God above,

You uttered words so loud and clear-

NEVERTHELESS my Father dear,

That's why I came to this sad earth

To give poor sinners second birth.

I am your one and only Son,

And, dear Father, we are one.

I'll reign with you at your right hand,

Fulfilling all that you had planned.

For all eternity we'll be

Three in One, and One in Three
