Then were there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on them and pray.        (Matthew 19:13)

Children's To Children's Home Page The Kings Dream

One night Nebuchadnezzar had a terrible dream that left him really scared. He called for his magicians and astrologers to tell him what the dream was about and what it meant. The magicians looked stunned. "Your majesty, we cannot tell you what it means unless you tell us what the dream was about. No one on earth can tell you."

"You're just playing for time. Tell me the dream or you will be killed." said the king, who was now furious and ordered that all the wise men in the kingdom were to be killed. This meant Daniel and his friends, Daniel prayed to God.

Daniel then went to Nebuchadnezzar. Every one was afraid. If Daniel did not know the dream and interpret it all the wise men would be killed.

Daniel said...

"No one can tell you the dream, but there is a God in Heaven who knows all things and He has told me.

You saw a big statue. It's head was made of gold, it's chest and arms of silver, it's belly and thighs of bronze, it's legs of iron and it's feet of iron and clay. As you watched a small stone struck the feet and the whole statue fell down. It was crushed and then the wind blew it away so that nothing remained. Then the small stone grew into great mountain and filled the whole world."

Daniel paused. "Now let me tell you what it means. You are the gold head, you are a great nation but after you another nation will come, not as great as you, then another and so on. All these nations will pass away but after them a nation will come that will fill the whole world and no one can destroy that one." Daniel was speaking of the all the people who would be saved and who would be in Christ's kingdom.

Nebuchadnezzar told Daniel that his God was indeed a great God who reveals secrets.
