Then were there brought unto Him little children, that He should put His hands on them and pray.        (Matthew 19:13)

Children's To Children's Home Page The Lame Man Healed

In Capernaum Jesus was invited into a house. When the people heard Jesus was there they all gathered to see and hear him. In the end the house was so packed that no one else could get in the door. A lame man, who was unable to walk, was brought by four of his friends to see Jesus. They had heard of the wonderful things Jesus had said and done. When they saw they could not get in, they did not go away, but climbed on the roof and opened it up so their friend could meet Jesus.

The people inside the house were astonished to see a hole being made in the roof and a man on a bed being lowered down. When Jesus saw the faith of the lame man and his friends he said to the lame man, "Son, your sins are forgiven you".

Some of the scribes , who were sitting there, thought to themselves "Who does he think he is, only God can forgive sins". Jesus knew what they were thinking and said. "Which is easier for me to say 'Your sins are forgiven.' or 'Take up your bed and walk.'?

Jesus then turned to the lame man and said "Take up your bed and go to your house". Straight away the man got up, everyone moved aside as he went out of the house healed. They were all amazed, they had never seen anything like this before. Jesus has the power to heal and forgive sins.
