I was sent to Sunday School as a young child, and later, as a young teenager, I went to the salvation Army. However, throughout those years I cannot recall ever hearing the gospel of the Lord Jesus dying for my sins.

When I was 19, and started going out with Steve, we met up regularly with an old school friend of mine. She told us she was a Christian, and had a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, and we had lots of discussions with her about her faith.

I was keen to start going to church again and, as I had never heard the message she had been telling us, I was interested in hearing more. I asked to go along to her church and, in the summer of 1973, I made my first visit to Dovecot. It was within a few weeks of hearing the gospel message for the first time that I realised I was a sinner, and asked the Lord to come into my life, and become my Saviour. Although I made a profession of faith at that time, it was a faltering spiritual walk. It was a few years later, as we started to attend the Young Life meetings, and join United Beach Missions teams, that I was greatly encouraged by the sound biblical teaching, and felt my faith really growing as a result. My life now would be meaningless without the Lord, and I am so glad that my friend introduced me to Him all those years ago.
